About Me

Hi, my name is Stacey and I’m a Foot Healthcare Practitioner

My background is in nursing so I know how sore feet feel

In fact, I worked as a nurse for 12 years and being on my feet all day means I know how important it is to look after your feet. Working in long term care, I became acutely aware of how difficult it is to care for your feet when you have health complications or you simply can’t reach or see your feet.

I’d always wanted to learn more about how to care for our feet

After leaving nursing, I pursued my interest in foot health by qualifying as a Foot Health Practitioner with the SMAE Institute in Maidenhead, Berkshire. I chose the SMAE institute because they have a strong track record in training foot health care practitioners, spanning almost a century. After over a year of study, I obtained a level 4 qualification that is accredited by Queen Margaret University.

My experience and training means that you are in good hands

I have worked with a variety of individuals in my time in healthcare. This includes working with people with learning disabilities, autism, challenging behaviour, dementia and other health diagnosis where conventional footcare may prove difficult. I pride myself on thinking outside the box and looking for alternative methods to ensure people get access to good foot health!

I gained a great deal of satisfaction by helping to care for the feet of people. I’ve heard it said that there’s nothing more satisfying than caring for others which is the motivation behind Cariad Foot Health.
